I am wanting to make my own chicfeed and I'm not sure how to do it I started the chickens on medicated chicken feed they are about 5 to 7 weeks oldcome to find out did not need to do that and it caused them to have diarrhea they were vaccinated I am wanting organic chickens and organic eggs with them being vaccinated will this harm that what should I put in the chicken feed and what should I not put in the chicken feed should I do grain or pellet I would appreciate any thoughts or opinions on this I am a new chicken owner
they are in a tub right now because they cannot regulate their heat I have a feed container and a water container I am constantly having to clean out the water container and add more is there an easier way to take care of the water issue it just sits inside the container I have is it hanging water feeder better

Not sure where you live- if it is not below freezing the birds at 5 weeks will not need heat. They will get it from feed. Most good feed mills or co-ops offer good organic grower feeds. Mix what starter you have left with the first of the grower. Make sure they have plenty of water.
Ours were out side at 5 weeks of age and had many nights at freezing or below. Many very wet days no losses or sickness.
You can mix feed and there is a thousand favorite recipes for home brewed feeds. Just remember the adage, you are what you eat.
