What do you think? Mites? Legs are not scaly, but definite signs of redness on several. My silkie just dies suddenly, upon my return from holiday. Now that it is light I have noticed red feet as pictured on several, marans rooster and hens particularly, but also my bare legged girls too. I will try to post picture in a few minutes.

Here is the pic, sorry, long time since I had to post a pic and I couldn't remember how to do it. Red feet, not scaly though?
I am getting ready to go out and soak in diluted epsom salt water solution and scrub, then coat in Vaseline...how does that sound? I can't treat coop until tomorrow as everything is closed today due to the New Year's Holiday.

Here is a bare legged chicken (Sussex) who almost looks like she has a red line running up the back of the leg, but reddened fo sure.

This is a Black Copper Marans and normally has slate grey legs with no pink, this must be something...I don't want to loose another, as I lost my silkie last night.

That could be, it just got cold here while I was away for Christmas. I am really trying to watch them since the Silkie died last night after I returned home. The Marans rooster's feet really do look more red than usual, it is in the 40's today and was 30's overnight.

Sorry for your loss.

Well, thank you. I will just keep watching them. This is my hen to lose, so I just am trying not to miss anything that could affect the health of the rest of the flock.
