Two of my chickens seem to have deformed feet. The chickens are 4 months old.

Notice how the little toes seem to be making 90 degree angles. They aren't spread apart equally like my other chickens.
Is this a birth defect?

Will this trait pass on to future generations - always, sometimes or not likely?

If I wanted to show these chickens - would they be disqualified because of the feet?

It could be genetic or due to bad incubation conditions. Yes they will be disqualified

David,

It is sad that these ladies would be disqualified, but you have still given me hope.

They were hatched in an incubator, so I will given breeding them a try and see if the next generation has issues.
If the chicks seem fine, then it was most likely an incubation problem.
