I have several off breed chickens that have some sort of disease of the feet. It looks like scabs or scales and encompasses most of the foot and lower leg. I peeled one of the scabs off and there seems to be capillary bleeding underneath. Any ideas? Seems to make them limp when they walk

That would be scaly leg mites. The mites get under the scales on the legs. BRB....will find you the remedy....

Sounds like Scaly Leg Mites... Did you try the suggestions we gave you the other day when you asked?

Ok, here's what you do for scaly leg mites....a friend of mine does this and it works GREAT! Mix together some vasceline, and some Seven Dust. Rub that all over the chicken's legs as you would put, say tanning oil, on yourself.

Then you will see improvement! And I would say do that again in three days.....it won't hurt your chicken and I think you can apply it more if needed.

Good luck to you!
