Chicken fights

We have recently added another two chickens to our existing "flock" of three. Some time back we lost two of our original three chickens and replaced them, there were a few pecks here and there but it was all over within a week or so. This time it seems a little more brutal. Does anyone have any tips on making it a little easier on the new comers?

separate the newcomers so that all can see eachother for a few days. That was the advice I got and that worked great. there was minimal pecking after let out and the order was established calmly actually! Erinm
