Chicken food

Does the type, quantity, mixture of food affect the behavior of chickens? I am talking about table scraps not store bought chicken feed. I have chicken feed also in a feeder within the coop. I have 3 chickens which at one time all had been pecked at. Now one has her feathers back while the other 2 no change. I haven't seen them pecking at each other for some time. It's just that the feathers aren't growing back as they did on the third chicken. Does certain foods make chickens more aggressive or affect their egg laying? I was gone for 5 weeks and had a family member care for the chickens. He fed them no table scraps; only store bought chicken feed. When I returned it took them 3 days before they laid an egg and only after I fed them table scraps. He claims he got eggs while we were gone. Sorry for the long question.

They will pick if they don't have adequate nutrients in their diet.
You might add cat kibble as a treat or give them more chicken feed.

I give them in a feeder a 50/50 mix of Scratch and Layer feed. It's available to them 24/7.
