Chicken Gone Crazy!

My chicken named Ruthy is a barred rock that has gone CRAZY! Every time I walk near her she puffs up her feathers, clucks, and gets ready to bolt. It happens, EVERY, SINGLE, TIME. For some reason she is very scared of me. I started doing tricks with her and ever since, she’s super scared of me. I never dropped her or anything that would make her scared of me. What’s going on with this crazy hen? (I’ll post some pics later!!!)

Let her walk up and down a latter, let her fly off my hand onto the perch, try to get her to swing ( even though she jumps off and hurts me and not her), just simple stuff like that.

What does that mean?

When a hen "goes broody" It means she will likely soon want to sit on eggs and raise a brood of chicks.
Signs of this are some of what you describe. Clucking, flightyness, puffing up. And also watch for her to spend alot of time in a nest box with eggs.

I just found out, when they go broody, their chest gets REALLY hot.
