TSC was out of chick grit so I just bought chicken grit.I thought I could just take a hammer to it to make it smaller. Will that be ok?

Is that 3 to 4 weeks old or 3/4 of a week old?

They need to be about 7-9 weeks for adult grit.

If you are only feeding chick starter, they don't necessarily need grit.

Plus, insoluble grit probably would be too hard to break up with a hammer.
