Chicken growth on chest.

I have a chicken with a baseball size growth hanging from her chest. It is squishy and growing. Cist or tumor?
Anybody have an idea what it is?

It sounds like it might just be their crop (where they store and break down food before it's digested). Do you have another chicken you could grab and compare it to?

It could have a crop impaction or other issue that is not allowing it to empty all the way. My chickens' crops can get or look pretty full, but should empty after going to bed and waking up.
 
Pictures may help. It sounds like a pendulous crop or very large full crop. The crop should gradually fill up as the hen eats during the day, and in morning it should be mostly empty before they eat or drink again. Some hens may overeat or have chronic crop impaction, and the muscle wall can become over stretched. It can take awhile to treat that, and a crop bra (yes, that is a thing) may be helpful in prevention of the crop overfilling with food. Is there a bad or sour odor from her beak.
