Chicken has sores on top of foot and is limping

Ok so everything I find online says bumblefoot, but it talks about sores beIng on the bottom of the foot. My Welsummer, has them on the top of her foot and is limping. This happened a couple of months ago but the limp went away after about a week and then the sores went away shortly after. Now it's back! Any idea what it is, and how to make her feel better?

Yes, post a picture if you can. However, the "sore" doesn't have to be on the bottom of the foot. I think it's usually there because that's normally where the initial injury occurs.
