my hen has I think mating wounds. He cut her badly under her wings. Can anyone tell me a good way to heal her up . I’ve been putting peroxide on the wounds but flies are all around her and just wanna know if I can wrap her so the wounds stay clean. Any help?.. please

I know it looks bad please don’t judge I just want her better.

It looks like it's healing OK now, but it's going to take a while. I'd trim back some of the feathers around it to keep them out of it. Don't use peroxide anymore, it can inhibit healing. At this point I would keep her away from flies, getting flystrike would undo everything you've accomplished. Veterycin spray is very good for this, it will help keep it clean and encourage healing, you can also use plain neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment (no pain killer). I would not wrap it unless you absolutely had to, it's better open, and if any bandaging were to stick to it, you will open it back up. Here is an article with pictures that may help you to know what to expect and what you are seeing as the healing process goes on: http://richie-cunningham.com/2012/04/11/chicken-wound-healing-process/
