I have a 6/7 month old Rhode Island Red that has been standing perfectly still for at least two hours now. I noticed her over by a fence line with her back end raised up high like she had a big arch in her back. I thought maybe she was going to lay an egg, even though it was the evening and she wasn't in her nest box. I watched her for an hour and a couple times she let out some yellowish mucus or poop. I thought I could see the egg in the vent about to come out, but now I'm thinking I didn't see an egg. I've never watched them before and I'm new at all this. We moved her to their fenced in area because it appeared she wouldn't move even if a predator snuck up on her. Any suggestions on what's going on? Is she constipated? I can't seem to put in the right words when searching to see what's going on.

Thanks.

She could be eggbound, or an internal layer, or an egg might have broken inside her.
