Every morning I go and let the girls out and check each one give them a pat on the back or ruffle some feathers and what not. This morning my Big Boss Lady didn't like that I petted one of the others first and jumped up and "POW, right in the kisser!" It was tragic, I mean blood and everything, LOL. Last year I learned not to have a stare down (face to face) with a chicken because they can't resist shiny eyeballs. Any one else have unintentional injuries from their feathered friends?

OUCH!!!!!

OUCH is right! Sheepers!!

Well this one didn't draw blood and it involves ducklings. My very first home hatched batch of ducks was finally all dried and rested and ready to go outside. I was sooooo excited! I went out with them and they followed me around and when I sat down they all piled on top of me! I thought it would be so cute and fun to lay down and let them take naps on me and climb all over me and I was right, it was fun, until one of them cought sight of my lashes and apparently thought it was some kind of funny looking caterpillar! It grabbed a hold of it and started pulling and twisting just trying to get that worm!! And needless to say it really hurt and I got duck dirt all up in my eye! It was still a lot of fun though!!!

We once chicken-sat for the neighbors while they went away for awhile. When I caught the guinea, it gave me a swift peck right above my left eye. I am so lucky it didn't get my actual eyeball!

My chickens are also enamored with my teeth...
