Chicken leg injury (died because of it)

I just wonder if anyone knows what this could be. This picture was taken back in July and my hen acted fine, limped a little, but stopped only a couple days later. Today I noticed it had gotten even bigger (size of a quarter) so I pushed on it and fresh bright red blood when everywhere! No puss, just blood. It just kept coming and we cleaned it and put flour on it, but she went into shock and started throwing up and went limp. This happened for a couple mins and the

she died in my arms. Anyone know what it could have been? Should I be worried about my 3 other chickens getting it?

My guess is an infected scratch that bled out. I doubt it’ll affect the rest of your flock.
