Chicken lingo!

So being newly hatched and computer challenged, I find myself staring at all the breed abbreviations and feeling like I am new in the country. Well, at least to chicken country. Is there a cheat sheet I can learn from? Thanks

Here's a thread from last month that lists a lot of them. You can google henderson's which gives you a good chicken breed chart, and probably guess any other breed abbreviations. It's easier than you think.

To find this thread I went to search (blue button, top of page) and search ed for "abbreviations."

i felt the same way when I got on here, especially all the breed names! In no time you will get to know what it means when someone has a BLRW! (blue laced red wyandotte)

Thanks everybody! Just to try this out... a BBS would be a blue black splash? And if it were a bantam, would it be BBBS?

I have the same problem. It took me a while to figure out SSS is not a breed of chicken.
