My chickens are just under 1 year old; recently, one of the fifteen chickens is starting to lose its feathers. I am unsure of the breed but I think it may be an ISA Brown. It is just 1 chicken and I thought the others might be pecking them out but I haven't caught them in the act yet. While I have had this issue in the past, the feathers grew back quickly enough for me to not do anything. I a no chicken expert so I can't tell if this is normal or not. It is really cold over here so I am wondering if that is the reason. Apart from that, she seems happy and healthy and is still eating and drinking. At first, it was only a few bald patches but now it has hardly any feathers. I should not have let it get this bad so if somebody knows the problem please let me know as soon as possible.
Can you post a picture? It may be that she is molting or she may be getting feather pecked/plucked.
