chicken losing feathers

i went to check my 3 hens this morning and one of them has a bald spot on her backend. The others do not have this. Should I be worried? Would it be a worm issue, or something else? What about molting? We have only had chickens for about 5 mo. and are so new. We are learning as we go. Thanks!

Do you have a roo? If so then it's prob his favorite hen. Otherwise could be molting. How old are they?

Birds molt in Aug/Sept every year. I would say this is what you are dealing with. My birds are looking downright unkempt! Even the 6 mo. olds...

I was just getting ready to post the same question - except my 18 week old RIR is missing most his/her neck feathers. But if I lift the top layer that is left there are a lot of feathers coming in. His/her tail is beraggled also.
