I have a 5-6 month old pekin bantam pullet and (at night) when I go to put my chickens away, she starts screaming like pterodactyl and makes those broody screams inside her coop. If I reach inside to touch her she fluffs up and starts screeching as if she's broody but she is not, because the next morning she's normal and running around. Also, if my other pullet tries to come inside, she starts fluffing up and screaming as well. The same is for my other pullet. They both make broody screechy noises when the other one comes, and my hand. My rooster is the only one safe from their noises. Also, whenever I hold/stroke them IN THE NIGHT, they make these weird high pitched squeaks when I stroke them like they're surprised, but they're fine throughout the rest of the day. they just make weird broody noises even though they're not broody and fluff up even though they're not broody, and scream when my hand or the other pullet comes, but not when my rooster comes, just at night. And when they see food(still at night), the other two fly out to get to it and my other pullet (mainly my lavender one) just stays inside fluffed up. Don't think she's sick, although sometimes during the day, my pullets randomly stand still fluffed up (only for like 5 seconds) then return to normal.
Why do they act so screechy and weird at night for?
