I began my chicken foray after moving to TN because my son had a dozen. So in September he said, Mom run to TSS with me ..and the rest, as they say, is history!

I brought home my required 4 chicks. 2 died within days. Looking back now, probably pasty butt but who knew to wipe butts!? not me. So I raised 2 - Orpington and EE (passing away was an EE and a Barred Rock) - and by October, my hubby said what do you want for your bday 🥰 ..so I found a local lady and acquired my first Polish (Tolblunt) and 2 Bantam Cochins (Splash and a Lavender, who has a crippled foot and hops)

..fast forward to spring! with hubby fully on board (i swear he talked about babies a LOT more than me!), we went to TSS and grabbed 5 : 2 Bantam Silkies, a RIR, BSL and Cinnamon Queen.

Than my chicken lady began posting her hatchings..so I *somehow* ended up with another Bantam Mille Fleur and 2 more Polish (another Tolblunt and a mixed color whom has now frizzled)

Hubby has begun to build them their TajMahal ..I have layed down flooring (no. I am not kidding! it was extra flooring on hand, waterproofed and for me? used up something under my spare bed and will help with cleaning out weekly) ..I than began to hang mirror's (again. Not kidding!) ..hung a chandelier with rechargeable solar lights and have a few baskets I will use for veggies and herbs for them to peck at and they have natural roosting bars.

We are going through our first possible coccidia flushing, so hoping everyone is okay and it's maybe cecal that is just bloody (my chicken lady says she believes coccidia sadly) so all 13 are on it. My 1 month olds have the bloody poops and hubby told me he did let them run around last week one day when we had 80 degree temps. So now I say my prayers and hope this is the cure.

Eager to learn and share my little experience!
