So my fiance and i decided to get chickens. We currently own ducks and decided chickens may be fun too! I had picked out a few breeds that seemed to be a good fit and ordered 4 chickens from a hatchery. The more i read, the more i wanted. So 4 turned into 5, 5 turned into 8 (thanks to hatchery minimums!). The same day our 8 were delivered we went to TSC where my fiance saw they had silkies and TSC has a 4 chick minimum for bantams. So basically when i only wanted to start with 4 in theory, i ended up with TWELVE! I used to think "chicken math schmicken math, i can control myself!" but here i am, a victim of chicken math. But boy oh boy are they CUTE!!! :love. So we have 4 silkies, 3 olive eggers, 2 cream legbars, 1 lavender orphington, 1 barred rock, and 1 black australorp. Heres some baby pics for everyone to swoon over :)

We went to the TSC to just SHOW my daughters the chicks and ducks. We also live within the city limits so we are limited to 4 hens 0 roosters. We have 26 chicks now. We had 4 green egg layers, four lavender feather legs that we think are D'uccle and two little runt bird that we have no idea what they will be. Lost a couple D'uccle so went back to get more and they didn't have any. They had another shipment. We now also have 4 Cochins, 4 Polish, two buttercups and 4 silkies. Who knows what we will do. Maybe teach them to be quite??
