Chicken Math?!?!?!?

My baby chicks arrived and luckily at 7:00am and now I am late for work but I wanted to say that.....I ordered FIVE chicks....FIVE....and when I opened the box I counted FOURTEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!! I'm not ready for 14 chicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to go to work..will post pics as soon as I get home! They are so cute!!!

Sometimes hatcheries have to add packing peanuts (cockerels) for warmth. If you can't keep them put them on here or craigslist, or give to friends.

I'm glad they are all doing well...doing my best to find bigger and better accomodations for them around the house...hubby is planning on adding an addition to the coop!!

I was short 5. momma hen made up for it and had 6, and yes they did credit my act.

Look at it this way... you would have fallen in love with the 5 babies and gone and bought at least 9 more anyways!

I started off with a plan to get only 6. Less than 2 months later I have 28.

In the past 4 days I have added 6 chicks to my flock. I had no intentions of adding any of them. Honest.

Yesterday I drove to a lady's house to see her Blue Polish and get 1. Right. Cant bring home someone without a buddy right????

When I started in April I had 9. Lost 5 now have 17. I love chicken math.

I wanted only 4 but had to order 11 and they included 10 'peanuts' plus someone 'dumped' chickens on our road so that was 10 more but the aligator ate 1; so how many chickens do I have now????

Chicken math can be unnerving. I expected 14 and got 77......I have a generous friend!
