hi all,
We had our first 2 easter egger chickens last sprint (Galineta and aunty) yes my 5year old names them
2 weeks ago, we decided to add 2 new members to our family. Daisy and Peach.
Problem started 3 days ago when my husband found Galineta in the coop not moving. When we went to pet her, she fell on her side. We knew something was wrong so i brough her inside. I fed her through a seringe, she slept with me for 2 days in a basket and just got wose and worse. It seems almost like she was having strokes, would’t eat or drink. Could’t stand on her legs. So with a VERY broken mama heart and lots of crying, we decided to help her cross the rainbow bridge.
Now just in a matter of hours, out baby Legbar (peach) started acting weird, keeping her head down, almost between her legs. Its like she scratches herself on her tummy and then falls forward. She’s been doing this for 2 days now. I am so heart broken i can’t even function. I know they are chickens... it get that.. but they are MY chickens. What is going on? Why is this happening? I found this post on this site and my girl is doing THE EXACT same thing word for word. I will go get vitamin E tomorrow and wish with all my heart that i will be as lucky as this lady was:
