so I recently found out that I have to rehome my chickens and I'm wondering if the birds were kept in a fenced-in yard will they come back if their new location has no boundaries? (the coop will stay the same) we have 15 hens and about 6x3

for new locations I see usually people suggest keeping the chickens in their coop for about a week so they see it as home. it kind of resets their minds.

When I move chicks and hens between coops, I leave them shut in the new location for a week, that's usually long enough for them to realise where the new home is...
First couple of evenings after they're free, usually requires a gentle guided walk in... Definitely helps if they are going back for dinner...

Should be exactly the same, or easier as the coop will be familiar territory!
