I have seen chicken netting advertised for making temporary, moveable, "free range" space. It is attached to poles which are placed in the ground and then rolled up when not in use.
Has anyone used this? Will chickens try to sneak under the netting? Our yard is not completely fenced in so we would use this frequently, but under supervision - I don't want any dogs or other neighborhood "guests" to wander in.
Is it unreasonable to consider having a small number of chickens without a fenced-in yard? Our yard is such a weird shape that there really isn't a way to fence it in entirely, but I do want to give the hens time to exercise outside their run as much as possible.
