Chicken newbie needs advice on how to start her coop!

I am looking for advice on how to start raising chickens. I am new to this, so I hope I can catch on quickly. Building the coop will not be the difficult part. I have men for that

welcome lilycooper. my advice would be to have the coop built and ready before you get chicks. i did it the other way and our 10 chicks out grew the 35 gal tote in a matter of weeks and had to build a temporary 8 x 4 coop in the garage. they were in that for a month or so. they create A LOT of dust. i was building myself so it took a while. it's all good now. you'll like them.
