In the Brooder
Hello everyone,
My wife and I had been talking about wanting our own chickens for a few years and this spring was the year we decided to do it. I'm in a rural part of Northwest New Jersey and there are plenty of farms around so we have good resources and suppliers nearby.
We got six pullets and three Rouen ducks in early March. The pullets are comprised of three amberlinks and three black sex links. Now that they're 8-9 weeks old I'm suspicious that I only have 4 pullets and 2 roosters. Which really knocks my potential egg harvest down a few notches. I'll post a picture if anyone thinks they can tell me for sure. Just finished the coop mostly and now I'm working on the run .Coop is 6x8 with a high ceiling and the run will be 8x12. Lemme know what you think. Tips, ideas etc... Thanks!
