Chicken Newbie

Hey everyone I'm new to backyard chickens! I live in Sierra Vista and am wanting to have some laying hens. Are they any breeds you all prefer over the other? My main concern is the heat. Granted Sierra Vista definitely doesn't get as hot as Tucson or Phoenix! Thank you so much!

Hi, and welcome to BYC. I'm not in Arizona currently, but do hang out on the Arizona State thread. It brings me memories when I was there.
Many of the peeps raise Naked Neck chickens because they are heat tolerant. You are slightly less HOT than Tuscon, but still quite warn.
