Hi from Arkansas!
Our family just relocated to our new homestead in the Ozark Mountains and after a long winter that afforded us a good *settling in* period, we have erected our coop, built our indoor brooder and just purchased chicks! (2) RIR's, (2) Buff Orpingtons and (2) Barred Rocks. We're starting off small as we get acclimated to being good caregivers for our precious little pullets. We've had our chicks for only five days now and already enjoy them.

Have been lurking on this forum for a really long time, soaking up info and oggling your birds. :)

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new chicks :celebrate Raising chicks is a very rewarding experience and lots of fun. Watching them grow and develop their own personalities is great. Many of us were lurkers before joining I was one for 2 years.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your chicks, be sure to ask any questions everyone here to help and very friendly.
Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Which part of the Ozark Mountains are you in? I was born in Hot Springs (Ouachita chain) and still love that area. My father was raised in the Russellville area and graduated from UA in Fayetteville. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Congrats on your RIRs, buff orps, and barred rocks! Those are all great breeds that will be laying tons of eggs once they reach the right age. Starting small is a very wise idea. Chickens are addicting so I'm sure you will be adding to the flock soon enough though!
