My chicken is not eating, I checked her crop and it is not full. She’s acting normal and is not lethargic. Her poop looks ok and I checked her throat and there was nothing blocking it. But she’s barely eating, even when I gave her her favorite food she didn’t eat it! Which never happened before. I tried forcing the food inside her mouth and she kept shaking her head to avoid the food, but then I was able to shove the food and she swallowed it normally. Should I be concerned?

Don't force her. How long has it been since you saw her eat? If it's hot she may not feel like it.
I was away for few days so I don’t know since when…but it doesn’t seem for so long since there was some food inside her crop. Also yes it’s hot…but I didn’t think that’s the reason because she used to still eat even when the heat was worse.

Don’t force feed her. If everything else is fine she most likely isn’t eating as much because of the heat. Mine eat considerably less when it’s hot. The more chickens eat the more body heat they create and eating less is one of the ways they help keep themselves cool. If she was not eating at all her poop would not be normal.

Noted! Thank you for the answer 🙏🏼💗

Check her crop first thing in the early morning before she has a chance to eat or drink. It should be empty and flat. If not, she may have a crop problem. Is she drinking water? What does she like for a treat? Mine always went crazy for scrambled egg bits, wet chicken feed, or rinsed canned tuna. I would make sure that she is passing droppings.

She is drinking but barely eating, she also love scrambled eggs and tomatoes but she barely ate any. She is passing droppings but it’s very unusual for her to not be interested in food like this. I doubt it’s because of the heat because that never happened when the heat was worse :(

Did you ever find out what was wrong? I’m having the same problem now.
