chicken not laying in nesting box

Today i discovered that my isa brown is not laying in her nesting box instead she's laying on top of it and the eggs are rolling off and breaking, the other chickens are not eating the eggs when they break they leave them alone. I don't know what to do, Any ideas would be very helpful.

yes we brought them yesterday, she has been laying eggs in the nesting box for months but these last 3 days she hasn't been.

My hen used to lay all over the farm, then I bought some fake eggs and they have been laying in the nesting boxes ever since! Is there some way you could block of the place she's laying?

I can't I have 2 hamburgs that sleep up there and it would be really hard to

I think I'm going to wake up at 6 (this is when she lays her eggs) and put her in the nesting box and cover the front until she lays her egg then let her out, if that doesn't work then I will put something up during the day.

If you put a slanted board over the top of the nest to prevent the laying on top problem the Hamburgs will find another place to sleep.

Better that they sleep on a roost anyway -- on top of the nest they'd be sleeping in their poop.

hi i had this problem my chicks only using one box and queuing up to use it too. so i bought two false eggs wood these are, or pot. put them in second nest box now the birds use both boxes...
