after finally moving to the countryside and having more garden space last week we took delivery of three beautiful black rock hens and they are settling in absolutely brilliantly!
we have ample space for more in the future but decided to start small then over time and when we feel confident enough to have more we will. Happy Days!!! delighted to have joined the BYC Krew lol

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Black Rocks are hybrids sold under the labels Black Sex Link or Black Star in the USA, and they are very friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per year. You should get loads of large, brown eggs from those three girls. :eek:) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Black Rocks.
