My chicken got chicken poo in her eye. It's gunky and watering. I have gently wiped it with a warm, soft, wet cloth. Other than that, what more can I do for her? Thank you so much!!
I would rinse the eye with saline, and apply some antibiotic ointment twice a day. Have you ever seen the eye foamy before? Until you make saline you can use some clean water to flush the eye.
Saline can be made by adding 2 tsp of salt to a quart or liter of water. Bring to a boil, turn down to a simmer for 15 minutes. Cool, and store inna clean jar. Since bubbles or foam in an eye can be a sign of mycoplasma (MG,) I would watch for other symptoms.
I agree with Eggcessive. Flush liberally with saline solution, then apply Terramycin eye ointment in the eye as needed. Plain Neosporin can be used if the Terramycin is unavailable.
