Ive had a five gallon bucket full of some wicked brew for two weeks....Ive heard and read that is a truly magical juice for fertilizing the veggie garden as well as the annuals and perennials around the yard....how long does it need to brew before its ready?

I use a 35 gallon drum and let it "brew" for about 3 weeks. You are right,it's great stuff.

I would be careful using any poop tea that has not been composted and aerated. I make a few 100 gallons of compost tea every year and use a 110 LPM air pump to brew aerobic bacteria. If you don't add air you can be brewing Ecoili and other nasty stuff.

I saw a video where the guy put a cup of peroxide in the 5 gallon bucket along with the tea, claiming that would stop anaerobic bacteria from forming. Don't know if it's exactly true, but I tried it and it smelled much better after a week than my first batch did. My plants didn't seem to mind either way. I am aware of e. coli being in chicken poo and so don't eat the greens I put it on for a week and even then wash them well. So far I haven't gotten sick.

FYI E. Coli can grow on your skin. The best thing is to wash with diluted bleach1:10 after handling/using poo. Peroxide and bleach evaporate usually after a day so sounds like a good idea. I always wash veggies with soap .

Peroxide will kill harmful bacteria, but it also kills beneficial bacteria. You'd have to add beneficials back in to get the full benefit of compost tea. If you garden organically, that beneficial bacteria is very important because it breaks down nutrients for plants to use.

Container of your choice,bucket,drum,barrel,1/3 chicken poop,2/3 water.Let brew about 3 weeks, less in hot and humid climates like texas.Apply to dirt around plant, don't spray on leaves or fruit.
