My very large rooster had bumblefoot. I pulled off the huge black scab that covered his entire foot and a yellow plug was attached to it. I've soaked his foot in Epsom salts and sprayed with vetericyn and vetiwrapped daily. It's been months now and big clumps of yellow puss keeps growing. Like thick yellow jelly. Initially I was just pulling it off but I've decided to just leave it now. It smells really bad. Do I keep pulling the puss off or just leave it? I was also giving him orally amoxyclav but have stopped this antibiotic now. Wondering if anyone has experience this? I've attached photos of his foot now .

Soak his foot in the warm epsom salt water for about 20 minutes. Wear disposable gloves and squeeze the heck out of the swollen footpad in order to remove ALL the pus from the footpad. You have to squeeze it hard and continue squeezing until all the infection is removed. Use tweezers to remove any infection that's in the hole if you have to, all the infection must be removed before wrapping it up, dig it out with the tweezers if you have to and squeeze some more. Soak up blood with a paper towel.
Soak the foot again and squeeze the footpad some more. That's the only way you're going to remove the infection is by squeezing it out.

Once you're sure all the infection is removed, flush the hole with Betadine, then pack it with Neosporin. Put a gauze over the hole and wrap it up with duct tape. Use scissors to cut strips of duct tape to place in between the toes.
Your rooster wont be able to remove the duct tape. Leave the foot wrapped for 5 days, then carefully remove the duct tape with scissors. It would be best to wrap him in a towel and in order to remove the duct tape.
Then remove the gauze and the wound should be healed or almost healed without any infection.

If there is infection, that means you didnt properly remove it the first time and you'll have to start all over.
If the wound is almost healed, apply Neosporin to it with gauze and rewrap it with duct tape for another 5 days, then remove it. It will be completely healed.
