I'm new to this chicken raising hobby and I just ordered 5 ISA Brown pullet chicks yesterday to be picked up on July 23. I originally intended to order Rhode Island Reds but my supplier wasn't able to get them so I ordered the ISA Browns instead. I would appreciate any advice/info regarding raising ISA Browns.

My mom has ISA browns and loves them. They just started laying last week. Pretty eggs! Sweet girls.

Good luck!

Welcome to BYC! I'm sorry I've never had that breed but the above mentioned thread should answer some questions, good luck with your chicks.

Welcome to BYC! I used to have some Lohman Browns. They are sweet girls and curious ones to! They are both hardy as chicks and in summer when older. But the cold got some of my birds last winter and most of them were Lohamn Browns.

I'd definitely recommend them if you are to keep your birds confined, they seem to me like an easy dinner for predators. Hope this helps!
