I Live in philomath Oregon and have a flock of 35 chickens now. Ages running from 8 weeks to 1.5 years old. Fairly big coop and run with sand and rock with hay and shavings in the deep litter areas. The 1 year old novagen wouldn't come down to eat or want to be touched during feeding time. Then the next morni g was dead laying in the roost area on the ground stiff with a blue comb. Any ideas or threads are greatly appreciated. Current feed for all is flock raiser purina brand and payback scratch and grains along with meal worms

Sorry for your loss. Sometimes you can tell what might have happened to them if you open them up and take a look at their organs, or have the state vet do a necropsy. Otherwise it is hard to know what was wrong without seeing any symptoms. When one separates themselves or doesn’t come off the roost, they are feeling bad, possibly from a reproductive disorder, crop problem, or a heart problem.
