One of my hens began to attack her I am assuming she knows shes sick.
My flock of 5 has maybe been completely well 1 week out of the last 5 months. When they were born we dealt with coccidia forever to the point we had to take one to the vet for something stronger than corid.
A few of my girls occasionally sneeze but recently 2 are becoming ill. One worse than the other, open mouth breathing and "barking" crop also seems to not be emptying correctly. It is not hard, I do not think it is sour crop. It was full and soft but overnight it did not empty. When I let her out to the normal water she drank for so long that when I picked her up a little water came out of her mouth.
I put Tiaguard in the water at the correct dose but she will not drink the water at all. Any tips?

I am just about over having chickens :( This was the first flock I raised from babies. I keep things very clean where they are, and scrub their water dish as well. I don't know what I am doing wrong but it's just been a constant stress.

(Side note: the two acting sick are about to laying age but have not laid yet. )

You can't count on them getting the right amount of antibiotics added to water. Your hen is not drinking it and waiting to get to unmedicated water. You need to medicate them directly. Can you get some Baytril?

What are you feeding them including any treats? Could they have eaten something they shouldn't have? Have you used any chemicals to clean the coop? Have they been wormed? A heavy worm load will keep the crop from emptying. They should not have reproductive problems this early but it can happen.

Did they have cocci straight after hatching in the brooder? How did you introduce them to the outdoors?
How are you cleaning their area and scrubbing their dishes?
What food do you feed and what is their enclosure like? Do you have proper ventilation in the coop?
Pictures would be helpful! :)
