Good day all,
I'm pretty new to raising chickens but so far I'm loving it. I've utilized several ideas from this site to use but I am wondering if everyone can help me on the best procedure for allowing my pullets to use their coop and run.
Right now I have the run attached to the front of the coop allowing them to go in and out as they want. At night time I close the coop door that leads to the run and they sleep in the coop until I get up in the morning.
Is this an ok procedure to follow allowing them to go in and out of the coop and run as they want or shouldI close the coop door once they're in the run?
Thanks in advance for any advice and help 😊🐔

Nope. Leave the door open. They'll need to access the coop to get to the nest boxes when they start to lay, sometimes they like to hang out on the roost in the coop or if the weather is bad and you don't have a roof on your run.
