Chicken Saddles

My top hen has been really aggressive lately with the other hens. She has pulled out most of the feathers on 4 of their backs. Are saddles effective on keeping their backs protected?

I'd separate or get rid of that hen first.

How long would I need to separate her for?

I honestly can't answer that myself, as I've never had that kind of aggression in my flock. There are a lot of threads on here, though, about separating bullies that you may find helpful.

I sent my hen to my neighbors flock, and they let her know it was NOT acceptable to pull out feathers or draw blood, real quick. She is now getting along with their hens/rooster very well.
