Yes, roosters are simply used for guard dogs, and fertilized eggs. Not boosting egg production. The move, and then the stress of adding a rooster she doesn't know... Both of those things may have contributed.
By the way, you don't need a rooster for eggs...
Okay what if I add a bulb or something to increase the egg production and yes it is winter in here !Moving, season, and light effects how eggs are laid.
Moving causes stress on the chicken so they forget about laying eggs and try to get over the stress. Plus you just added a strange rooster so she doesn't have time to lay eggs because she's trying to figure out who this chicken is.
Fall and winter are the slowest and lowest egg production times of the year, so please don't be alarmed if she doesn't lay until spring.
Chickens need light to lay eggs. I don't really know why but they do. This adds on to why seasons influence them because there are less light hours. If your coop already doesn't get enough (or any) light, I highly recommend increasing the amount of ways for light to enter the coop.
I'm feeding them normal feed anvailable here which is made from fishes !Welcome to BYC! Often the trauma of moving causes them to stop laying. Make sure she is getting proper nutrition...what are you feeding?. If you live where winter is starting, the shorter days may be a factor. She may wait till spring....
