Mary is a 8 week old white hen and she seems to have suddenly fallen ill or is maybe just really tired. I had her out in the yard, where she normally hangs out multiple times a day, and she seemed playful like her normal self. I put her back in her house (which is heated) and when I went back out a half hour later to bring her out she looked like she didn't recognize me and started stumbling a bit. she the laid down outside of her house in a strange way and i had to take her inside. she's sleeping heavier than normal but it's later than i'm usually up so who knows? she's still responsive and chirps if i make a sound.
she took a normal looking dump but it looked pretty large. I thought there might have been a watery green one but she eats a lot of herbs and pistachios. now she is taking more regular-looking ones the past couple times.
she still eats cashews and pistachios but isn't so interested much in her regular feed.
she's still drinking normally so i gave her a pinch of liquid multivitamin and another bowl of water with just a bit of molasses mixed in.
i adopted her at 2 weeks old because my buddy hatched her and didn't have time for her anymore so she never got vaccinated. my fear is that she may have picked something up from the wild birds that fly into her cage to visit and steal her food.
also, she has been eating some old food which i leave out for crows or other birds so i'm not sure if she got food poisoning? the food looked fine and i think a human or a dog could eat it but i've been reading about bacterial illnesses in chickens so i don't know.
it's a very pampered chicken which gets lots of room to move about in a big enclosure on regular overgrown terrain. I feed her a bowl of medicated chick starter feed with some cashews, pistachios, flax, hemp and a softboiled egg out of the shell. i leave a hanging feeder with some of her starter feed for her to kick/peck at and i'm not sure if that has gone bad or not since i haven't changed it in at least two weeks.
i just got her coop insulated last week and ordered a heated perch for the winter so i hope she pulls through ok. i was ignorant in thinking she was tough like crows and other birds so i didn't watch her for eating scraps as closely as i should have.
are there any measures i should be taking or should i just leave her to sleep through the night? she seems to be sleeping normal and the onset of her symptoms happened at sunset so i'm hoping it's something to do with sleep. i'll take her to the vet in the morning but i don't think they will be happy if i call their emergency line with this

thanks!

I'll be praying! I hope she pulls through!:hugsKeep hoping!
ty! looks like the prayers are working because she took 5 dumps in a row and seems to be fine now. will update if there's more to say from the vet but i'm thinking she must have eaten something that didn't agree with her and her tiredness made it seem worse than it was.
