A few weeks ago I went on a road trip with my family and I told the neighbors to help me feed the chickens. Right after they started feeding them the chickens started to lay eggs. FYI they have stopped laying for a while. The neighbors have been feeding them the same feed the same portion. I'm just wondering what that has to do with the chickens laying eggs. Since then, the chickens have always been laying eggs on time off the same food. Of course, for people with experience in having chickens, please give me any possible reasons this may be true. Thank you! :)

Chickens go through laying cycles that can be related to daylight, the seasons, feed, stress, molting or practically anything else.
If it's winter where you are, they might've responded to the decreasing daylight and stopped for awhile. Or went onto molt at the start of winter and took their break then.

Best wishes!
