A month ago I was very surprised to find a lost loose Americana chicken in my yard as three of my cats watched her through the fence. I tried to find her owner but nobody claimed her. Long story short, we built a 10"x10' coop for her and named her Mollie. She was nervous at first but it didn't take long before she decided she liked me. Within two days she ate treats from my hand, and this week, she decided she likes my lap. Since then we have gotten 10 more chicks ages 3 and 4 weeks (separated from Mollie of course). Having chickens was not on my list but it sure has been a fun and busy learning experience...loving it.
