I hope I haven't just inadvertently hurt my hen, but she has bumble foot and the vet has prescribed antibiotics and a footwash with iodine.
He told me to make the iodine solution like a very weak tea - which I did (almost like a lager colour) and then put on cotton wool swab and clean the feet. As I went to pick her up, she grabbed the cotton wool out of my hand. I had to prize it off her but obviously some of the fluid went down her throat. I am guessing about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon worth.
Will this be OK or should I be doing something to counteract it? I have offered water but to be fair, she is bombing around the yard eating and scratching like nothing is wrong.
