Chicken "time-out". How long?

About two weeks ago I reintroduced one of my hens (Cornelia Marie) to the rest of the flock (there are 6 all together) and of course she is now low chicken in the pecking order. But one of the other hens (Delia) was being particularly mean to her, basically mounting her like a rooster and scratching her and tearing out feathers. So I have Delia in solitary confinement and was thinking about keeping her by herself for three days. Will this be long enough for a bit of an attitude adjustment?

I'd try putting her back in around "bed time" then keep an eye out for a day or two and see if things have gotten better.. If not try longer and if that doesn't work sometimes they just never get along. Introducing a newbie can be tricky sometimes. Good luck!

I would keep her in "jail" until the dynamics in the flock have settled down. A day or part of a day is not enough time to demote her in rank.
