Okay, so not sure where to put this, please MOD move it if it needs to be moved.
Two weeks or more ago, I culled 6 of 7 Silkies b/c they had MS/MG CRD or something of the like. I purchased them as eggs, hatched them in September from ebay eggs and this group were the only ones to get ill. I did everything right- seperated them, treated them, but the gook came back, so I culled them, knowing they would be carriers and their eggs would be worthless as the last thing I would ever want to do is spread illness of any sort...
That said... My husband said he burned the carcasses after he did the deed (I hate blood). Today (like 2 weeks later) The dog comes up to the house with a carcass in her mouth. The insides were BLACK. OMG! Is that normal for Silkies? BLACK innards? It was a partridge Silkie, and I think their skin IS black, but should their insides be, too? Was it possible that with age, the body degraded? The feathers were still on it..
Someone explain, please?
Hugs and thank you
