Chicken tractor questions

Hello friends!

Looking for some input on chicken tractors. I have a large coop and run set up but have been wanting to build a bigger run. Part of me thinks looking into building a tractor may be a better bet. Some of these questions may seem silly but i am curious of how it works.

How do you get the chickens from the coop to the tractor?

Do you move them back to the coop nightly or would an attached coop be a better design?

How big of a tractor for 13 hens?

What is a good food and watering method?

It would have to have nest boxes as well right?

Any input you have on the pros/cons/functionality of a tractor would be greatly appreciated!!!

We have a chicken tractor, but not for layers. The coop is attached to the run and we move it every morning. I am imagining that nest boxes would be in there, and we hang food and water in the run and put it in the coop at night. Everything works great and chickens are healthy :) I personally like the design because if you can't free range, the chickens get new area every day and can still scratch in the grass but don't tear things up too much! Good luck :)

Probably too big to move...especially if you expect them to be in it all day.
Tractors are tough...size and weight soon overcomes mobility.
Another 'Romance meets Reality' lesson in chickeneering.

What is it for then.....got pics?

For meat birds, it works well for them because they don't roost. I don't know about layers, they would need roosts! I do not have pictures at the moment.
