If u used pvc it would be plenty light mine is really heavy because i didnt want a dog or something turning it over but I always overbuild everything. PVC sounds like a good idea u just might wanna think about something being able to get to your chickens.

oh yea the inside dimensions on mine are 6.5' x4'

The thing I don't like about the PVC pipe is that it gets brittle, after awhile, from being in the sunlight. A thought on how light it is...if it is easy for you to move, predators won't have a problem moving it either.

Edited to add: Have you thought about a cattle panel hoop tractor? We used cattle panels to make somewhat of a hoop run, they're really sturdy and light-weight, too. I plan to make a couple of tractors along this line, over the winter, so we can seperate out our breeds.
