Chicken vs. Duck

Just wondering, from experiance which makes a better family pet, Chicken or Duck and why? Thanks....

Ducks! I say ducks for sure! If you get a day old duckling or even hatch some eggs out they will bond to you way more than a chicken. When you walk they will follow and if you spend time with it every day the friendship will last into adulthood.
This is just one pic. of several that I have raised! She is sitting on me while I lay in the grass!

i like animals that leave me alone and can fend for themselves. so i prefer chickens. and i swear ducks poop way more than chickens. haha

I have heard much on the duck poop issue.

duck and goose poop. its a nightmare. goose is worse. but still both are worse than chickens. i dont live on a lot of land so the less nasty poop the better.

It's hard to understand how much messier ducks are then chickens until you have had both. I had 3 ducklings. They were way messier then the 14 chicks I have now combined. They can be charming but you need to heavily consider what level of maintenance you are looking for.
