Chicken water needs

I'm exploring different watering ideas and was wondering how much water does a chicken go through. I expect to refill water every couple of days, but don't necessarily want to have to water every day. I'm planning on four hens, at least two waterers. Do they need to hold gallons, or would two 2-liter bottles every couple of days be enough?

I just know that they drink a LOT more than you think they will! Especially when it's hot.

I have 10 birds and have to fill a 5 gal waterer about every 3rd day
They also have water in the run separate from the 5 gal.
They do drink a lot as Tala said.
